Standards & Technical References

Find standards families and technical references by designation, subject, organization and document type.

Collection scope

This selected collection examines standards families and related technical references used in quality management and product review. It includes management systems, test and assessment documents, technical rules and international guidance.

A topic may cover several related documents. Its title is therefore a reading subject, while the reference record identifies the particular documents and editions examined.

Find a reference

Search by a designation, a technical subject or a common abbreviation. Narrow the list by research subject, source organization or document type. For example, a search for ISO/IEC 17025 leads to laboratory competence; UN 38.3 leads to lithium battery transport testing.

Filters remain in the page address so that a result set can be revisited or shared.

Reference results

Each result identifies the document family, source context and the practical issue addressed by its profile. Open a profile to read the scope, editions, application questions and official sources.

When a search spans several fields, begin with the broader subject and then refine the reference set. Product descriptions and standard titles do not always use the same vocabulary.

Document types

Document types carry different meanings. A management system standard concerns organizational arrangements. A product or test standard concerns a defined technical object or method. A guide, recommendation, code or transport test provision has its own publication and application context.

The classification is shown with the profile. Regulatory adoption and scheme use are recorded as separate relationships rather than inferred from the document's title.

Editions and adoption

The latest edition in a publisher's catalogue may differ from a national adoption, a regulation's cited edition or an edition accepted during an assessment scheme's transition. Read these dates and relationships together.

Profiles distinguish publication information from source-check dates. A source-check date describes the preparation of the NCQM resource; it does not change the legal or technical status of the original document.

Official access and sources

Official sources provide access to publication records and, where offered by the issuer, the original text. Access conditions vary. Open catalogue metadata and a publicly readable document do not necessarily carry the same reuse rights.

The Center provides original explanations and source links. Readers seeking a standard for operational use should obtain the appropriate publication and licence from the issuing organization or its authorized distributor.

Use research subjects to see a technical reference in its broader working context. Comparative studies examine particular relationships, and reading pathways provide a sequence for common review tasks.

For a product intended for the United States, continue to the separate U.S. requirements collection and the relevant official authority. Maintain the product facts, jurisdiction and edition in the same review record.
