Report Misrepresentation
Submission requirements and process
What to report
Use this route for a suspected false statement of Committee affiliation, appointment, permission or endorsement, or unauthorized use of its name or logo.
Check the context
Read the statement and its surrounding qualifications. A citation to a Committee publication is different from a claim of institutional approval.
Identify the material
Provide the page address, organization name and a limited image or quotation needed to identify the concern.
Explain the concern
Describe the relationship or claim in question and the facts that appear inconsistent with it. A report is not a finding of misconduct.
Contact and confidentiality
Provide a contact for follow-up and identify any information requiring restricted handling.
Review
The responsible function examines the claim, permission records and relevant evidence. Public action follows confirmed facts and appropriate authority.
Receipt and follow-up
A successful submission provides a reference. Further information is supplied through the secure request route.
Public information
A notice is published only where appropriate to explain a confirmed matter. Public notices.
