Research on defined product requirements and the use of standards in Brazil. Each record identifies its scope, source and practical evidence questions.
Market scope
Inmetro, Anvisa, Anatel and ABNT have separate functions.
The records below examine specific provisions and standards relationships. They do not combine different products or regulatory roles into one approval route.
Safety information for industrial consumer products
Consumer Protection Code · Article 8, paragraph 1
The Code couples the general safety duty with adequate information about a product. For industrial goods, the manufacturer must supply that information in accompanying printed material. A product review should connect the instructions to the actual configuration and foreseeable use; a technical test report does not by itself establish that the consumer received the required information.
Mandatory certification of covered household appliances
Inmetro Ordinance 148/2022 · Article 5 and paragraphs 1–4
Covered appliances must undergo certification under the ordinance before national market availability. Certification is a condition for using the conformity identification seal, while responsibility for safety remains with the supplier. The review must therefore match the certificate and marking authorisation to the actual product family rather than accepting a generic manufacturer quality certificate.

Appliances and similar equipment within the ordinance scope, made or supplied in Brazil.
Scope and conditions
Scope and separate product regulations must be checked; this is not an approval for every electrical product.
Actions
Classify the appliance against the regulated scope.
Complete the applicable certification route before supply.
Use the seal only within its authorisation.
Evidence identified by the source
Applicable product certification and authorised conformity marking.

The toy regulation assigns age classification to the manufacturer and assessment of that classification to the certification body. Its annex separates the recommended age from the age restriction used for testing. A reviewer should not select the test population merely from a marketing age icon, especially where the restriction and intended activity indicate a different assessment.

Homologation before use or sale of telecommunications products
Anatel Resolution 715/2019 · Annex, Article 55, including the 2025 amendments
Homologation is a prerequisite for use and commercialisation of covered telecommunications products. The consolidated text also places responsibilities on digital sales intermediaries, including regularity checks and display of the homologation code. Neither a foreign radio approval nor a laboratory report alone replaces the Brazilian administrative decision.

Lot or serial identification on medical-device labels
Anvisa RDC 751/2022 · Article 47(V)
The medical-device label must provide the lot code or serial number using the prescribed identification wording. This obligation creates a direct link between the physical unit, manufacturing history and postmarket actions. Review the released label and actual production identification together; an Anvisa regularisation number addresses a different identification purpose.

Portuguese and legibility of mandatory packaged-food information
Anvisa RDC 727/2022 · Article 8 andsole paragraph
Mandatory food information must be in Portuguese and presented with adequate visibility and legibility. Article 8 sets a minimum character rule unless another provision specifies otherwise and allows a supplementary label before commercialisation when the original information is not in Portuguese. A translation sticker must preserve the other mandatory information; it is not a route to omit it.

IEC 60335 references in the appliance certification framework
Inmetro Ordinance 148/2022 reference list · Referenced technical documents; Annex I reference framework
The official regulation record lists IEC 60335-1:2016 and dated particular parts as technical references. This is a use relationship within a Brazilian product scheme, not proof that the IEC document alone grants market access. Identify the applicable particular part and any national conditions before commissioning tests.

Inmetro Ordinance 302/2021 toy reference framework · Technical-reference list
The toy regulation record identifies dated ABNT NBR NM 300 parts alongside other technical documents. The reference establishes which publications the scheme uses; it does not authorise copying their methods or treating an unrelated international toy report as automatically equivalent. Maintain a requirement-by-part test plan for the specific toy.
Cgcre accredited laboratory programme · Testing and calibration laboratory categories
Cgcre identifies ABNT NBR ISO/IEC 17025:2017 as the basis for testing and calibration laboratory accreditation. Its directory warns that an accreditation scope can be cancelled even where the certificate has no fixed expiry. The useful evidence is the current scope covering the method and activity, not the laboratory logo on a report.

Product-certification body accreditation uses ABNT NBR ISO/IEC 17065
Cgcre product-certification body accreditation · Service description: product certification bodies
The official accreditation service assigns ABNT NBR ISO/IEC 17065 to product-certification bodies, separately from management-system certification standards. A supplier review should verify both the body competence and its particular programme scope. A body accreditation cannot replace the product certificate or extend the certified family beyond the actual decision.
